19.5 inch tall coil pot from ceramics I college course. First fire went nicely, but I never got around to glazing the piece. Planning to take the ceramics course again, my professor asked if I could bring it back the following semester, and we would tackle glazing then.
Unfortunately, I have the worst cats in the world and they knocked it over while playing. The top half shattered.
FORTUNATELY, however, I have an incredibly amazing guy in my life and he sat on the floor for about two hours using model glue to put it back together. It looks just like new, but I won't be able to fire it.
I have plans to paint it with acrylics, once a nice day rolls around and I can sit out on my front porch.
yes, the fact that it's so intricate is the main reason i never fired it. I couldn't decide if I should go for a glaze that was really wild and make the whole thing crazy, or something more toned down so it wasn't too busy. Oh well, now I'm painting it some crazy colors, hopefully I'll get pictures up soon. : )

Damn i did that wrong, no prob ill just undo that....undo...UNDO....UNDO!!!!! AHHHH WERES THE UNDO BUTTON! Traditional Art, not for the faint hearted.
yea, i can never figure out if i wanna fire something or not, i kinda like the contrast of the stoneware drying with the elements. I would def go for something crazy, as it is very intricate. but not too busy cause the form speaks for itself and if you were to distract the viewer to the color, i dont really feel like it would leave the clay much to say. If you do go crazy more power to ya, it looks just great unfired
Thats so cool! It's so bad your cats knocked it over but you love them right? lol and thats so nice of your boyfriend I would have cried if I were you lol but today was a pretty day, you should have done it today!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
